Neurologist - Intermittent
About the role
Provides general neurological services for both inpatients and outpatients at Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center. Provides advanced, specialty care in neurology on a consultative basis to other SEARHC providers.
Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive neurological services on an outpatient basis to all SEARHC patients, including evaluations, clinical analysis, diagnosis, and ongoing therapy recommendation.
- Performs inpatient neurology consultations at the request of Mt. Edgecumbe primary care providers.
- Participates in all medical staff functions as requested, to include quality assurance.
- Abides by medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- Education: Medical school degree.
- Certifications: Accredited Neurology residency, current Alaska State Medical Physician license, Basic Life Support certification.
- Experience: Training through residency as noted under Education.
- Knowledge: Advanced knowledge in allopathic medicine and in the specialty of neurology, specialty knowledge in therapies for neurologic disorders.
- Skills: Oral and written communication, clinical judgment, appropriate and judicious use of tests, ability to gather information, analyze information, and make advanced clinical determinations, work cooperatively with patients, work cooperatively with other health professionals, work cooperatively with support staff.
