Essential Functions
- Perform physical and neurological examination of patients who are suffering from neurological disorders.
- Order diagnostic tests such as blood tests, spinal fluid tests, and imaging tests such as MRIs.
- Diagnose conditions and disorders based on physical and cognitive exams and test results.
- Develop treatment plans and manage and adapt treatment of patients depending on progress.
- Document patient care services in a timely manner.
- Communicate treatment plans and instructions to patients.
- Communicate with nurses and other medical staff to ensure patients receive best possible care.
- Maintain current knowledge of trends in area of expertise.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Comply with federal/state/local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Build practice to support the vision and goals of ONC.
Qualifications
- Must be professionally licensed to practice neurology and be in good standing with all applicable federal/state/local licensing bodies.
- Must be board certified/board eligible in neurology.
- Caring and compassionate when dealing with patients.
- Thorough and up-to-date working knowledge of neurology and neurology treatment options.
- Technical skills to operate medical equipment and tools related to neurology treatment.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and applicable laws and regulations regarding scope of practice.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to sit, perform data entry, and view computer screen for long periods at a time.
- Daily standing, walking, bending, and maneuvering.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds or more to transfer and/or turn patient with and without assistive devices.
Environmental Conditions
- Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and biohazards.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Scheduled Working Hours
- Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fridays.
- Hours may vary based on daily patient schedule and the needs of the position, department, and clinic.
- Weekend and holiday on-call hours are expected from time to time.
