Neurohospitalist - Hartford Hospital
About the role
The Neurohospitalist at Hartford HealthCare (HHC) will be part of a growing Institute focused on comprehensive patient care, academics, and research. The role involves 24 weeks of inpatient coverage per year, covering a full week from 7 AM Monday to 7 AM Monday, including a share of evening call coverage. Inpatient services include attending coverage on the general neurology service or neurology consult service (or both).
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, manage, and treat patients with a variety of neurological disorders.
- Provide inpatient consultation for neurology patients.
- Hands-on clinical supervision and teaching for medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
- Teaching responsibilities may include bedside rounds for the consult and inpatient services, neurology didactic sessions, Grand Rounds, and other teaching lectures.
- Participate in the monthly Neurohospitalist Lecture Series and other activities like clinical research, quality improvement, patient experience initiatives, resident and faculty interviews, and lectures to professional or public audiences.
- Collaborate and communicate with other neurologists and members of the hospital staff, including medicine hospitalists and attendings on other services, including various ICUs.
- Evaluate and provide consultations and/or management for patients in the Hartford Hospital Emergency Department (ED) and Observation Unit.
Requirements
BC/BE certification in Neurology is required.
