We are seeking candidates for the following faculty positions: Neurohospitalist, Epileptologist, Movement Disorder Specialist, and Outpatient Neurologist.

Neurohospitalist

  • Fully inpatient role covering stroke and general inpatient service
  • Flexible 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule
  • Stroke fellowship preferred but not required
  • Dual training in IOM, EEG, or EMG is well supported
  • Mentoring and teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, advanced practice providers, and support staff
  • Robust support staff

Movement Disorder Specialist

  • Fully outpatient role with 100% Movement Disorder volume initially
  • Collaborative relationship for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) with functional neurosurgeons
  • Call schedule of 1:6
  • Mentoring and teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, advanced practice providers, and support staff
  • Robust support staff
  • Average of 16-18 patients per day with 30-minute appointments
  • Protected time for administration, teaching, and research
  • Leadership opportunities available for interested candidates

Epileptologist

  • 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
  • Call schedule of 1:6
  • Mentoring and teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, advanced practice providers, and support staff
  • Approximately 276 inpatient Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) EEG studies and 733 outpatient EEGs annually
  • Experience with perioperative stereo-electroencephalogram (SEEG) analysis preferred but not required
  • Experience or willingness to learn indications and management of VNS, RNS, and DBS preferred but not required
  • Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) call available for interested candidates
  • Average of 16-18 patients per day with 30-minute appointments

  • Mentoring and teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, advanced practice providers, and support staff
  • Robust support staff including an EMG Tech and two new EMG machines (one portable)
  • Average of 16-18 patients per day with 30-minute appointments

This opportunity is located in Central Illinois, just over three hours from Chicago and an hour and a half from Saint Louis. The city, known for being the home of Abraham Lincoln for 24 years, offers a rich history with numerous museums and memorials. It also features beautiful outdoor spaces, a diverse range of restaurants, and a thriving brewery scene. The area has a strong education economy driven by several colleges and universities, including the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS), Robert Morris University, Lincoln Community College, ITT Tech, and Capital Area Career Center.
