Responsibilities

• Electrode Placement - Utilizes the International 10-20 Electrode Placement system to measure, mark and apply electrodes to the predetermined positions on the patient's scalp.
• Routine EEGs - Performs standard EEG recordings according to the departmental protocols including awake and asleep, bedside, isolation, geriatric, pediatric, neonatal, etc.
• Video EEGs - Performs standard Video EEG Long Term Monitoring recording according to the department protocols.
• Evoked Potentials - Performs standard Visual Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials, and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials according to ACNS guidelines.
• Support During Seizures - Provides supportive patient care and detailed observations of clinical manifestations during seizure and other patient emergency situations.
• Customer/Peer Relations - Works in a professional and collaborative manner with all team members and physicians in the delivery of patient care and monitoring.
• Departmental Protocols - Follows all department protocols
• Neurodiagnostic Equipment - Maintains all neurodiagnostic equipment in good working order.
• Continuing Education - Enhances professional growth and development through annual participation in educational programs, in-services, workshops, reading current publications on Neurophysiology testing/technology and Neurological disease, online CME through various professional organizations and manufacturers, and viewing recorded educational programs.
• Safety and Infection Control - Practices universal precautions and follows all safety and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing .
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft or Google productivity suite.
• Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Eligible for ABRET registration.
