Neurodiagnostic Tech Asst

Responsibilities

• Maintains vigilance over patients undergoing cEEG recording for safety.
• Alerts nursing and/or technologist staff during clinical seizures or other paroxysmal events.
• Assists in monitoring all EMU patients to ensure their safety.
• Recognizes normal and abnormal EEG waveform patterns.
• Alerts physicians and supervising Neurophysiology technologist of clinical/subclinical seizures or behavioral arrest changes.
• Troubleshoots EEG readings in real time to minimize risks of poor or incomplete data.
• Assists Neurodiagnostic Technologists as needed, including restocking supplies and electrode removal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Trained in-house with 20 clinical observation hours.
• Successfully completed didactic course (ASET LTM 100).
• Competency assessments including but not limited to:
• Recognition of clinical seizures and other clinical paroxysmal events.
• Ictal testing procedures.
• Measures to reduce risk of fall.
• Sepreiz first aid.
