The Department of Neurosurgery at VCU School of Medicine aims to improve health through excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Chief Purpose

The Department of Neurosurgery seeks a Neuro-Oncologist to join their team at VCU School of Medicine. This position is open rank and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Responsibilities

  • Care of Neuro-oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Teach medical students and housestaff
  • Participate in formal conferences for housestaff and students emphasizing issues in Neuro-oncology
  • Attend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon request
  • Participate in and lead clinical research and clinical trials
  • Serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and University committees as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent)
  • Successful completion of a neurology residency and neuro-oncology fellowship at accredited institutions
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology (ABPN) and Neuro-Oncology (UCNS)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an inclusive environment

Salary range is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time faculty position with 12 months of service per year.
