Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support computer systems, networks, and communication systems including LAN, WAN, network segments, and intranets.
- Manage Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) products for system performance, automation, and security monitoring.
- Execute daily system and network operations following operational and maintenance (O&M) checklists for routine service tasks.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
- Operate and tune enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) tools; create and manage event alarms, alerts, and summary reports.
- Support technical risk analysis of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
- Participate in incident response and cybersecurity readiness activities.
- Provide "day-to-day" support for classified systems, including Collateral, SCI, and SAP environments.
- Manage virtualization platforms and perform system troubleshooting and patching.
- Provide technical assistance to users to resolve software, hardware, and access issues.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
- Proficiency in Cisco networking, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Experience with LAN/WAN environments, data backup technologies, and COMSEC integration.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, ESX, or Xen.
- Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), Common Criteria, and System Security Policy for system authorization and compliance.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., LogRhythm, ACAS, Nessus, SCAP).
- Knowledge of scripting, Group Policy management, forensic analysis, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Understanding of SQL, Oracle/MS SQL, IIS, Tomcat, and web/database security principles.
- Familiarity with VOIP, video teleconferencing, and network security controls (e.g., SE Linux, AppArmor).
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years in System or Network Administration.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years of relevant experience may be substituted).
- Certifications: Must meet DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level I within 6 months of hire (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+).
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI required; eligibility for SAP access and must be willing to submit to a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
