About the role

The Network Services Supervisor provides technical support, consulting, and is fluent in activities related to voice, data, and video communications within the California State Lottery (Lottery).

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and directs activities of staff in supporting the Lottery’s networking infrastructure which include Cloud, Local Area Network (LAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN).
  • Sets IT processes and standards.
  • Formulates future long-range vision and objectives.
  • Aligns, reviews implementation, and ensures conformance of the Unit with organizational policies and objectives.

Requirements

  • Current Information Technology Supervisor II exam.
  • Experience in team leadership, cultivating a high-performing team culture, and constructively resolving conflicts.
  • Experience with procurement processes, budget development/monitoring, and vendor relationship management.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and administering the most complex and technical network infrastructure devices and systems.
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting switches (including core and data center), firewalls, routers, client VPN terminators, network access control systems, wireless controllers and access points, DNS, authentication and authorization servers, network monitoring and management systems, IDS/IPS systems.
  • Experience configuring and implementing network equipment from pre-defined policies and procedures based around best business and security practices.
  • Experience architecting and managing statewide networks, cloud services, and related connections.
  • Experience developing network documentation, including topologies, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of or experience with IT Service Management, such as ITIL, Incident Management, Change Enablement.
  • Experience administrating networking systems and solutions, such as Wi-Fi controllers, Firewalls and Managed Switches.
  • Experience leading network or infrastructure projects and developing high-performing teams.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT, with a focus on network administration and management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, including familiarity with VoIP, MPLS, and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and motivate teams, and strong problem-solving abilities.

$8,504.00 - $11,395.00 per Month
