About the role
Spectra, a wholly owned subsidiary of Strata Networks, is seeking a skilled Network / Security Installer to join our team. This hands-on role is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, access control, video surveillance, intercom, and other low-voltage systems. Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper, fiber, and low-voltage cabling.
- Install and configure switches, routers, wireless access points, racks, cabinets, patch panels, and other network equipment.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot access control systems, including card/mobile readers, door controllers, electric strikes, and magnetic locks.
- Install and configure IP and analog video surveillance systems, including cameras, NVRs, VMS platforms, and related equipment.
- Install and maintain intercom, paging, emergency communication, and visitor management systems.
- Configure and test network-connected devices and security systems.
- Diagnose issues involving doors, locks, cameras, controllers, networking, and power systems.
- Read blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings.
- Complete system testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and documentation.
- Work with customers, contractors, electricians, and project managers to successfully complete projects.
- Provide customer training and assist with site surveys, estimates, material lists, and system upgrades.
- Ensure installations meet applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and company quality standards.
Requirements
- Experience with access control, IP video surveillance, intercom, and structured cabling systems.
- Understanding of low-voltage electrical systems and TCP/IP networking.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi Protect, Verkada, Paxton, Milestone, or Axis.
- Preferred: BICSI Installer or OSHA 10/30 certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders and work from lifts/scaffolding, and work in ceilings, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, outdoor environments, and active construction areas.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, and reach for extended periods and safely operate power and testing equipment.
