About The Role

As a Remote Network Security Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's digital infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations of perimeter security technologies across our global data centers and cloud environments, including firewall and proxy services. You will act as a key technical resource, proactively identifying potential security risks, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring seamless service delivery across interconnected infrastructures. Collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders will be essential as you respond to service requests and support secure enterprise operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in Information Technology
  • At least 2 years of experience in firewall, proxy, and network operations/installation
  • 1 year of experience with enterprise public (Azure, AWS) or private (NSX) cloud platforms
  • Experience with Zscaler and/or Zero-Trust security solutions
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
  • Educational background with a focus on technology or IT (desirable)
  • Proficiency in enterprise datacenter firewall, proxy, and network operations
  • Strong TCP/IP troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in developing and integrating security into network designs and leading proof-of-concept or pilot projects for emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, VB, C#, Ruby, Python, Terraform (beneficial)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to think strategically and tactically
  • Familiarity with Purdue PCN modular architecture
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Linux and Windows platforms
  • Understanding of server, desktop, and laptop hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A sense of urgency and crisis management capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect digital infrastructure and sensitive data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to develop and execute comprehensive cybersecurity strategies
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Develop, test, and refine incident response plans to ensure rapid and effective mitigation of cybersecurity incidents
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance security posture
  • Oversee the configuration, management, and operational integrity of firewalls, proxies, and network security devices
  • Support cloud security initiatives across public and private cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and NSX
  • Lead proof-of-concept projects and pilots for emerging security technologies
  • Provide technical guidance and support for security policy enforcement and compliance
  • Engage in troubleshooting and resolving complex network security issues
  • Document security processes, configurations, and incident reports for compliance and audit purposes
  • Participate in security awareness training and promote best practices across the organization
