Network Operations Analyst

Tuknik Government Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Network Operations Analyst to support TGS and our government customer in Durham, NC or Baltimore, MD.

About the role

Provide hardware and software engineering, technical support services, and training for operation of various existing applications and implementation of new technologies within the client’s Regional System Support Center (RSSC) infrastructure. The candidate will deliver on-site support and management for hardware devices at the RSSC, as well as 2nd and 3rd level software and hardware problem determination.

Schedule

Sunday through Thursday, Midnight to 8:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations necessary for effective hardware operation, including daily database initialization, monitoring health of client/server equipment, and data flow through Outlook/Exchange, database, storage, and PDC servers.
• Conduct daily checks on overnight hardware functionality and troubleshoot as necessary.
• Troubleshoot workstation or server connectivity issues and hardware problems in a multiple domain environment.
• Provide problem analysis for all types of hardware within the ROCC infrastructure and coordinate activities for problem resolution.
• Perform all activities necessary to resolve hardware problems; limited travel may be required.
• Install and/or reinstall Agency-approved software on multiple platform disciplines resident in the ROCC.
• Perform software application troubleshooting on all Agency-standard software.
• Execute day-to-day operations necessary for effective software operation, coordinating prompt and appropriate problem resolution.
• Troubleshoot workstation or server connectivity issues and software application problems in a multiple domain environment.
• Resolve software problems; limited travel may be required.
• Provide support and problem resolution for Microsoft Windows server and workstation, and multiple domain structures.
• Utilize common Microsoft Administration utilities such as Server Manager, User Manager, and Performance Monitor.
• Offer suggestions for proactive problem resolution and contribute to continuous improvement of daily operations using network management utilities like SMS.
• Logically resolve problems in the client-server area using the TCP/IP suite of protocols (PING, TRACERT, TELNET, etc.).

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Services, or comparable discipline required, or demonstrated success with equivalent work experience.
• Equivalent combination of knowledge and specialized experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Government contract may require proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Active CCNA and Network+ Certification.

Skills

Candidates must possess extensive knowledge of:

• Networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, MS Exchange Email, Active Directory, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP protocols and applications.
• Windows Server 2012 and Windows 7.
• Cisco IOS (CLI).
• Data Protection Manager 2012, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Unix systems operation and Oracle database operation.
• EMC and Hitachi storage array concepts.
• Large routed/switched/Ethernet networks using primarily Cisco equipment.
• General Windows administration.
