Network Hosting and Fabric Services Engineer
About the Role
World Wide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is seeking a Network Hosting and Fabric Services Engineer to support our client with their Network, Security, Cloud, Virtualization, SDN, and Automation technologies. This is a 9+ month contract position.
A successful Network Engineer in this role will be involved in delivering a variety of transformative initiatives, from early conceptual assessments through proof-of-concepts (POCs). The role focuses on instituting automated self-service solutions to efficiently meet internal and external customer demands.
Responsibilities
- Articulate complex Network and Security designs to management and business partners.
- Create and maintain meticulous documentation and manage tasks and time effectively.
- Apply industry-standard Network and Security best practices and solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex Networking technologies across all layers of the OSI model.
- Design, deploy, and maintain highly available Underlay and Overlay Networking and Security constructs (MPLS, eVPN, VxLAN).
- Work with Software Defined Networking solutions (SDWAN, NFV, Cloud Provider Peering).
- Provision, protect, and maintain Internet peering points, Public IP Management, and DDoS services.
- Automate Network and/or Security deployments and functions in Multi-Tenant and Multi-Data-Center environments.
- Deploy and diagnose protocols and functions such as IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, VLANs, MPLS, IPSEC, DMVPN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF, VxLAN, RPKI, eVPN, VRRP, MLAG, VPC, STP, Anycast, SSL, and TLS.
- Understand and apply PCI/DSS controls, protections, and best practices.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex Networking technologies.
- Experience with Multi-Tenant and Multi-Data-Center deployments.
- Expertise in tuning and diagnosing dynamic routing protocols and complex route manipulation.
- Experience with Coding and related Automation technologies.
- Proficiency in Coding/Scripting languages (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Netmiko, Netconf, Napalm, Jinja, YAML, JSON, APIs).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the continental U.S. to qualify for government-related security clearances (6C for BOE, C2 for IRS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying and maintaining large-scale Layer 2 and Layer 3 Data Center Networks.
- Familiarity with Cisco (IOS and NXOS) and Arista (EOS) Data Center equipment.
- Knowledge of Layer 1 and 2 protocols (Spanning-Tree modes, Trunking, MLAG/VPC).
- Experience with Data Center Fabric deployment types (FabricPath, VxLAN, EVPN).
- Expertise in interconnecting disperse Data Center Fabric technologies (VxLAN, EVPN).
- Proficiency in Layer 3 Routing Protocols and Network Routing techniques (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience deploying and managing complex BGP routing policies.
- Experience with VMware platforms and Networking (vMotion, HCX, FXRails, VxRails).
- Experience with Automation Toolsets, Scripting, and Config Templating (GitLab, Python, Jinja, Netbox, Vendor APIs).
