Network Engineer, Senior

About the role

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) support is searching for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team in Fort. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain multi-vendor routing/switching platforms (Cisco), VPN concentrators, and F5 load balancers.
• Design and implement network topologies, managing complex routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.
• Apply DoW STIG/SRG requirements to all network devices to maintain IAVA/IAVM compliance.
• Perform verification across HBSS modules and utilize enterprise automation tools to deploy secure baselines.
• Ensure 99.7% network uptime across critical and strategic enclaves, driving cybersecurity compliance through rigorous STIG/IAVA applications, and leading Network engineering initiatives during complex migrations, hardware refreshes, and network outages.
• Design, plan, and execute enterprise network migrations, topology updates, and hardware refreshes (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc).
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network diagrams, rack elevations, and disaster recovery plans.
• Maintain and upgrade networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
• Monitor the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
• Provide innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
• Coordinate LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.

Requirements

• 7 + years of related experience.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ certification (Required for DoW 8570/8140 compliance).

Qualifications

• Disaster Recovery (DR), Network Engineering, Networking.

Skills

• CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Collaboration.
