Job Responsibilities
- Installs and supports LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
- Applies deep knowledge of industry standards and vendor certifications.
- Installs, configures, and maintains network infrastructure devices as well as all related hardware and software.
- Maintains network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
- Maintains network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems.
- Assists in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting network deployments.
- Conducts appropriate, routine tests to ensure the proper working condition and security of developed and purchased network systems.
- Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
- Maintains network performance and performs common network restoration/recovery actions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience administering LAN/WAN network environments.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, and switching fundamentals.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification.
- Experience supporting a federal government network environment.
- Familiarity with network security best practices.
