Network Engineer (KEY-NE1-03.080626)

Security clearance: TS/SCI with both Polygraphs is required

Location: Ft. Meade, Maryland

About the Role

Provides network support involving system-level design, architecture, enterprise security, security boundaries, datacenter virtualization, CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure, packet capture software, TCP/IP protocol stack, routing/switching protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3/L4 access controls.

Responsibilities

• Physical installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network routers, switches, load balancers, and security devices
• Support on-call requirements and work in a live call environment using ticketing systems such as Remedy

Technologies & Protocols

• Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, filter and access control, Ciscoworks, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM
• HP Openview, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, F5/Cisco load balancers
• Infiniband, Juniper, FiberChannel (FC) SAN, VPN (IPSEC)
• TCP/IP protocol stack and routing/switching protocols
• L2/L3 protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3 access controls
• Atlassian Tool Suite
• Virtualization products: VMWare and Solaris containers

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
• Bachelor’s degree + 3 years minimum experience, OR no degree + 5 years minimum experience, OR 3 years demonstrable experience in network engineering (LAN), architecture, monitoring, security, and protection
• Datacenter network design and architecture experience, including installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC virtual private networks
• 2 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
