Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Serves as a subject matter expert in network infrastructure, including routers, aggregators, switches, Wi-Fi controllers, and firewalls.
- Diagnoses and resolves technical issues promptly, often under time-sensitive conditions.
- Maintains and administers network and host-based security measures, including firewall and VPN management.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive network documentation and performs regular security monitoring.
- Monitors network usage, anticipates potential issues, and implements preventive measures.
- Supports the deployment and maintenance of Windows, servers, and hosts, collaborating with colleagues to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborates with the Telephony Engineer to ensure the proper functioning of the Cisco phone system.
- Keeps the SNMP Dashboard up-to-date and assists with Help Desk tickets as needed.
Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, And Responsibilities
- Installs, supports, and maintains hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices.
- Provides network and host-based security, incident response, firewall, and VPN management and administration.
- Implements necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modifications, disclosure, or destruction.
- Develops, maintains, and provides network documentation.
- Monitors network usage, anticipates problems, and suggests solutions.
- Assists in the deployment and maintenance of Windows, servers, and hosts.
- Works closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices.
- Works with other members of the team to implement solutions to system-related problems to minimize operational impact.
- Rapidly responds to emergency situations, including direct response or on-call coverage, both during and outside of normal business hours.
- Supports the Telephony Engineer in maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading the Cisco phone system.
- Keeps the SNMP Dashboard accurate.
- Assists with Help Desk tickets as needed.

- Maintains a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff by following infection control, safety, and risk management procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
Education, Licenses, and Certifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- Preferred: Cisco Certification or equivalent work experience.
- Required: Current CompTIA Certification.
Experience
- Preferred: Two (2) years of expertise implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including but not limited to: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
- Preferred: Experienced in clinical systems implementations and support, including system configuration, custom development, maintenance, and software upgrades.
