- Configure, implement, and troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software products, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers/access points, and load balancers, as well as associated cloud networking constructs.
- Proactively manage the service availability and security posture of network systems to support an average of 99.999% uptime.
- Perform ongoing review and maintenance of enterprise router and switch infrastructure, including hybrid connectivity paths involving AWS Transit Gateway, SD-WAN, and Cloud WAN.
- Participate in project planning, implementation, and technical documentation, ensuring network diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks are accurate and up to date.
- Assist in the management of related data, server, and security systems as dictated by the environment, including coordination with cloud and security teams on firewall policy and segmentation.
- Provide second and third-level operational support, including participation in 24x7x365 on-call rotation and after-hours troubleshooting as required.
- Perform advanced monitoring, analysis, and reporting related to network performance, availability, and security.
- Develop and contribute to tactical and strategic network standards, guidelines, and policies based on growth trends, metrics, and business requirements.
- Cook up data network services, technical activities, and maintenance windows with internal teams and external service providers.

- Assist with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code efforts under guidance, contributing to repeatable and auditable network operations.
- Adhere to time tracking, metrics tracking, and operational reporting requirements.
Education
- 2+ years of solid experience with enterprise networking platforms, including Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, WLAN, and load balancers.
- Strong hands-on routing knowledge across enterprise and WAN technologies, including:
- BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT
- VLANs and ACLs
- IPsec and GRE concepts
Core Competencies
- Hands-on experience supporting WAN and SD-WAN operations, including secure transport, branch-to-hub connectivity, and enterprise edge routing.
- Familiarity with hybrid networking architectures integrating on-premises environments with AWS, including Transit Gateway based hub-and-spoke designs and Cloud WAN concepts such as centralized routing, segmentation, and firewall insertion.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud networking fundamentals, including traffic flow, routing intent, and network segmentation.
- Exposure to cloud firewall services, traffic inspection, and security policy enforcement across hybrid and cloud-native networks.
- Good familiarity with Zero Trust / SSE connectivity concepts and secure access principles.
- Knowledge of electronic data transmission principles, LAN/WAN design, routing fundamentals, business applications, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of standard cabling technologies and practices, including UTP (Category 5e/6) and fiber optics (single-mode and multi-mode).
- Comfortable implementing automation or scripting, with practical experience applying Infrastructure as Code, maintaining version-controlled configurations, and building repeatable operational workflows.
- Experience with network monitoring and observability tools used for performance analysis, alerting, and troubleshooting (e.g., SolarWinds, packet analysis tools).
- Experience with change, incident, and problem management workflows, including use of ServiceNow or similar platforms.
- Experience with network documentation tools such as Visio or Lucid.
- Experience with IP telephony is a plus, but not required.
