Network and Cybersecurity Engineer

Purpose and Impact: Amentum/Secure Networking Solutions is seeking a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer to ensure the security, accreditation, and compliance of Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) environments for the Skywalker program. This role supports Information Assurance (IA) activities, coordinates Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts, and implements cybersecurity best practices throughout the system lifecycle. The position involves close collaboration with Government stakeholders and engineering teams to securely deploy, maintain, and operate systems in accordance with ICD 503, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and customer security requirements while supporting mission-critical operations. Experience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical and training documentation, including A&A artifacts required by ICD 503, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support cybersecurity engineering and IA activities for WIDS deployments.
• Coordinate A&A and ATO efforts in accordance with ICD 503 and Government requirements.
• Develop, review, and maintain accreditation documentation, security plans, and technical procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to implement secure system configurations and cybersecurity controls.
• Support vulnerability assessments, security compliance reviews, and risk mitigation activities.
• Assist with system hardening, patch management, and configuration management.
• Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity requirements throughout system deployment and sustainment.
• Support Government customers during security reviews, audits, and accreditation activities.

Work Environment

• Primarily an office setting, but may require installing sensors and wiring, which involves climbing ladders and lifting up to 20 lbs.

Requirements

• Experience supporting Information Assurance or cybersecurity activities within DoD and/or Intelligence Community environments.
• Knowledge of RMF, ICD 503, A&A, and ATO processes.
• Experience developing technical documentation and security accreditation artifacts.
• Understanding of secure system engineering principles and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering teams and Government stakeholders.
• Ability to travel worldwide.
• Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 5–7 years of experience; Master's Degree with 3–5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years supporting cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or systems engineering efforts for classified Government programs.

Pay

$183,000–$203,000

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
