About the Role
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining network systems. This role requires independent project handling, deep technical expertise, and the ability to resolve complex network issues. The position plays a critical role in improving network efficiency and ensuring high levels of network performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, install, and maintain network systems.
- Handle projects independently and solve complex network issues.
- Improve network efficiency and ensure high levels of network performance and security.
- Perform additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar or related role; equivalent combination of experience, education, certification, and demonstrated proficiency will also be considered.
- One or more current, industry-standard certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP).
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of network architecture and engineering practices.
- Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting, and managing network equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good leadership abilities and effective communication skills.
- Experience with network security practices and network optimization techniques.

Primary Location: Baptist Health Resource Center. This is a regular full-time, first-shift position.
