About the role
Responsible for protocol inter-networking and architecture of our cloud computing platform.
Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot network traffic engineering using BGP/OSPF and large-scale network operations and maintenance procedures
- Analyze networks and troubleshoot network bugs to successfully mitigate large scale issues
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, as well as upgrade software on routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers on a large-scale network
- Conceptualize large scalable network solutions, write applicable acceptance and design documentation while implementing on a reduced time scale
- Mentor junior engineers
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s):
- IP networking fundamentals and the application of IP protocols
- Use of protocols and technologies, including VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, VPNs, MPLS, DNS, and HTTP
- Experience with either Python or PERL scripting
- Documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems
Pay
Salary Range: $138,986 - $184,000 per year in Seattle, WA. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
