About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution and leverage your experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
  • Travel within and outside of the regional work area using a reliable personal vehicle (company transportation not provided)

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Work in an environment that operates 24/7, including participation in primary responder rotation and after-hours support
  • Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways without limitation

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for regional travel
  • Work authorization without employer intervention (Amazon is not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future)

Pay

Starting pay for this position ranges from $27.98 to $48.99 USD hourly, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
