About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This role is remote, allowing candidates from the continental United States to work from their preferred location.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network automation and engineering
  • Strong proficiency in Python development, including object-oriented programming, testing, and packaging
  • Deep understanding of networking fundamentals such as routing, switching, and BGP
  • Hands-on experience with network automation tools like Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, or Scrapli
  • Experience working with modern network APIs including NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gNMI
  • Proficiency with Ansible and Jinja2 templating for network automation tasks
  • Familiarity with source-of-truth platforms such as NetBox or Nautobot
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable network automation solutions using Python and related frameworks
  • Build automation pipelines for configuration management, deployment, and validation across multi-vendor environments
  • Develop integrations with network device APIs including NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gNMI
  • Implement and manage source-of-truth platforms such as NetBox or Nautobot to maintain authoritative network data
  • Create infrastructure-as-code for network configurations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jinja2 templating
  • Implement testing and validation workflows utilizing pyATS, Genie, Batfish, and Suzieq
  • Create CI/CD pipelines to automate network change processes, including pre-deployment validation and rollback procedures
  • Implement observability and telemetry pipelines leveraging gNMI and streaming telemetry to enhance network visibility
  • Implement intent-based networking patterns and self-healing workflows to ensure network resilience and automatic convergence
  • Automate compliance and audit workflows, generating evidence and verifying adherence to organizational policies
  • Partner with network engineering teams to identify manual workflows suitable for automation
  • Mentor junior engineers on Python development, software engineering best practices, and automation techniques
  • Stay current with industry trends, vendor API updates, and emerging network automation tools
