Network Automation Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced automation engineer to manage system infrastructure and applications. As part of our team, you will develop and implement automation solutions, maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and management of infrastructure and applications. This role also involves strengthening DevSecOps skills while supporting the sustainment and development of critical naval platforms.
Responsibilities
- Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, Jinja2, or PowerShell
- Utilize automation tools including Ansible
- Work with CI/CD toolsets such as GitLab or Jenkins
- Write Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automate network appliances (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, BigIP)
- Build, deploy, release automation, or orchestration solutions
- Manage infrastructure-as-code environments, including automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring/testing (e.g., CI/CD)
- Provision and manage infrastructure and applications in on-premise and cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure
- Work with IPAM, NetBox, or ForwardNetworks
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, JavaScript, Jinja2, or PowerShell)
- 2+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD toolsets (GitLab or Jenkins)
- Experience writing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automating network appliances (Cisco, Palo Alto, BigIP)
- Experience with building, deployment, release automation, or orchestration
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including automated server/network configurations, large-scale deployments, and CI/CD
- Experience provisioning and managing infrastructure/applications in on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of IPAM, NetBox, or ForwardNetworks
- Secret clearance (HS diploma or GED required)
Nice to Have
- Experience automating system configurations and orchestrating network operations/DevOps pipelines in cloud environments
- Experience with JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
- Knowledge of automation and process improvement through holistic programming solutions
- Ability to analyze business requirements for designing automated process workflows

Pay
Salary is determined by location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800 to $198,000 (annualized USD).

Work models may include remote, hybrid, or onsite, with expectations varying by role:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential customer site visits.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have cameras on during meetings to support engagement and communication.
