Network and Server Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Network and Server Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and secures the systems that power Gifford's data flow, ensuring reliable and high-performing connectivity across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments while minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable network architectures
• Manage servers and virtualization platforms
• Maintain system performance to optimize efficiency and availability
• Proactively mitigate risks and manage firewalls and servers
• Adhere to industry compliance standards
• Support disaster recovery planning
• Document system configurations and processes
• Provide technical leadership and guidance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Three to eight years of experience in network engineering or IT infrastructure roles
• Experience with server installation and storage technologies
• Proficiency in VMware or Hyper-V
• Knowledge of OS: Deep understanding of Windows Server environments
• Networking Protocols: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and DHCP
• Hardware Proficiency: Hands-on experience with vendors like Cisco, Aruba, and Palo Alto
• Automation: Ability to use scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Palo Alto Network Security Architect certification preferred
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred
