About the role

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Network and Computer Systems Administrator (JSE)-Journeyman. The salary range of this position is $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures and maintains an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems and physical/virtual servers
  • Performs system monitoring
  • Verifies the integrity/availability of hardware, network and server resources/systems
  • Reviews system and application logs
  • Verifies completion of scheduled jobs and system backups
  • Analyzes network and server resource consumption and controls user access
  • Installs/Upgrades software and maintains software licenses
  • Affords assistance in network emulation/virtualization, analysis, planning and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree with 2 years of additional work experience (5 years total) OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 4 years of additional work experience (7 years total) OR Relevant Technical Certification with 4 years of additional work experience (7 years total) OR meets CSWF training requirements OR meets the CSWF certification requirements (CSWF Qualifications: https://www.cool.osd.mil/usn/cswf/matrix.html?moc=cswf_sa_451)
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) OR Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) OR Security CompTIA SecurityX (formerly CASP+) OR Federal IT Security Professional-Operator-NG (FITSP-O) OR GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies (GFACT) OR GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) OR RHEL certification
  • Experience with ACAS (Automated Cybersecurity Assessment System)Familiarity with STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides)
  • Experience with Linux versions 7-10Familiarity with RHEL, SUSE and Ubuntu distributions
  • Experience with Windows Server 2022/2025Experience with VMware and Active Directory (AD)
  • The ability to troubleshoot and support the full network environment (not limited to switch-level issues)
  • Strong attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DOD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract

Physical Environment And Working Conditions

  • The physical environment for this position requires the employee to support various labs at PAX River. The physical environment also requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for part of the day.
  • The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
