Key Duties
- Network & Security Operations (Meraki or equivalent)
- Assist with administration of Cisco Meraki or equivalent Dashboard for SD-WAN, security appliances, and switching across sites.
- Configure and maintain SD-WAN uplinks, VPN topologies (AutoVPN/site-to-site), traffic shaping, QoS, and failover to support business-critical applications.
- Maintain network segmentation and access control (VLANs, ACLs, port security, 802.1X/MAB where applicable) following least privilege principles.
- Help manage Meraki or equivalent switch configuration, stacking, PoE budgets, and lifecycle (firmware, replacements, and standard builds).
- Troubleshoot routine network issues and escalate complex problems to manager.
- Security Monitoring & Response Enablement (Rapid7 SIEM or equivalent)
- Enablement of Rapid7 SIEM or equivalent for network and security log sources and validation of log collection under established procedures.
- Validate log coverage, parsing, time synchronization, and retention to support investigations, compliance, and alerting reliability.
- Partner with Security Operations to tune detection logic, reduce false positives, and create dashboards/queries for network-relevant use cases.
- Support incident response by providing network-level evidence (flows, device events, VPN history, and configuration changes) and supporting incident response activities by gathering network data and documentation as directed.
- Cisco Licensing & Asset Governance
- Maintain accurate inventories for Meraki or equivalent hardware and licenses; manage renewals, co-term/subscription alignment, and entitlement changes.
- Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely renewals and avoid service interruptions.
- Maintain licensing records, inventory documentation and related administrative records to support internal audits and vendor compliance.
- Security Best Practices, Hardening & Compliance
- Apply established network security standards, including secure configurations, change control, backups, and least-privilege administration.
- Contribute to network security standards, runbooks, and SOPs; participate in tabletop exercises and post-incident reviews.
- Partners with IT and Security teams on network improvement initiatives and provide technical support for security-related projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science required ; Industry certifications (C CNA/CCNP, Cisco Meraki or equivalent CMNA, or security certifications (Security+, SSCP, or equivalent) preferred or 4-5 years of hands-on network administration with an enterprise environment in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within Network Administration.
- Demonstrated experience helping administer Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, Meraki switches, or equivalent (templates, VLANs, routing, VPN, and firmware management).
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms (Rapid7 or equivalent) and familiarity with network device log collection and basic troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Cisco licensing models and processes (renewals, co-term/subscriptions, entitlements, and inventory management).
- Strong fundamentals in TCP/IP, VLANs, routing (static/dynamic concepts), DHCP/DNS, NAT, VPN, and firewall policy concepts.
- Experience with documentation, change management, and operational runbooks in regulated or audit-driven environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot methodically, communicate clearly, and collaborate across IT and Security teams.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of network access control, identity services, and secure wireless networking concepts.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows and translating findings into network remediation actions.
- Experience operating in environments with compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, FDA, ISO, HIPAA, or similar).
- Cisco Meraki or equivalent: SD-WAN, security appliances, switching, Dashboard templates/policies, event logs and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of SIEM platforms and network device log collection.
- Network security fundamentals, including VLANs, ACLs, firewall concepts and secure configuration practices.
- Ability to partner with Security Operations to support network-related security initiatives.
- Operations: incident support, change control, vendor/ISP coordination, and lifecycle management.
