About the role

We are seeking a Network Administrator to support IT services for the Navy Marine Corps Internet (NMCI)/COSC planning, coordination, execution, and business processes for the CNIC Regional Offices in Norfolk, VA. This role contributes to improving operational performance and cost reductions through technical capabilities that automate processes or enhance transparency for analytics and decision-making. The position is based in Norfolk, Virginia and requires an active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support PC refresh efforts such as Windows upgrades.
  • Support government phone efforts such as Purebred or other technical upgrades.
  • Support account creations for NMCI users, troubleshoot CAC issues, and assist users with technical problems.
  • Provide regional and local level design and installation support for Navy-wide Operational Technology (OT) initiatives and programs.
  • Maintain and secure regional and local level OT systems in accordance with Navy directives.
  • Ensure connectivity and integration with regional monitoring and enterprise management services.
  • Troubleshoot system outages and network connectivity issues, engaging with program-level support personnel, base-level communications, and regional staff.
  • Ensure OT systems adhere to cybersecurity principles and support local IA initiatives for securing and accrediting existing OT systems.
  • Resolve technical issues during sustainment, including maintenance trend analysis, technical issue resolution, OEM interface, analysis of alternatives, and proposing solutions to improve uptime and readiness.
  • Perform administration and maintenance of network infrastructure hardware and components.
  • Monitor and maintain servers (physical and virtual), network switches and routers, workstations, laptops, and multi-function devices (printers) on the network.
  • Create and maintain documentation of physical and logical connectivity of network devices.
  • Research and recommend network products based on customer requirements.
  • Provide customer support, including troubleshooting network issues/outages, processing firewall change requests, and answering general network questions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and other government agencies to provide support for network devices.
  • Respond to incidents elevated from the Enterprise Desktop Support and Information Assurance Management section related to network matters/security incidents.
  • Monitor the Enterprise Operations Console, document and report network-related incidents, and look for indications of network-related issues.
  • Manage and configure Access Control Lists (ACL) on SIPR.
  • Maintain the Wireless Device Inventory, update, distribute, and program wireless devices.
  • Perform routine network administration tasks such as opening/closing network ports.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (must be transferable).
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Current DoD IAT 8570 level II compliant certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience, including three of the following four areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training.
  • Hands-on IT technical experience.
  • Experience supporting NMCI.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% if needed.
