Network Administrator II

About the Role

The Network Administrator II is responsible for the in-house Local, MPLS/SD-WAN, and Storage Area Networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network, storage, and server hardware, software, and associated communication links. The role ensures the integrity of data residing on network, storage, and server equipment through proper backups and security measures. The position also involves network and system administration (physical and virtual), enforcing policies and procedures, and reporting gaps in operating controls to leadership to mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware and software technical support to all users, including 2nd tier support for LAN/MPLS/SD-WAN problems, system communication issues, and PC support (30%).
• Administer the Storage Area Network (SAN) and backup storage solutions (20%).
• Manage 3rd party professional services vendors (10%).
• Lead and manage technological projects as assigned (10%).
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and risk mitigation activities, reporting gaps to leadership to minimize member impact and risk (30%).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience managing a network infrastructure.
• Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification or better.
• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Server 2012 or better.
• At least 5 years of experience with VMWare ESX 6 or better.
• At least 3 years of experience with Cisco UCS (a plus).
• Experience in the management and design of mid-sized networks or larger.
• Hardware and OS experience with Microsoft, IBM-compatible PCs (Windows 10 or better), Cisco switches and routers, network printers, and IBM Mid-Range computers.
• Strong project management skills in technical environments.
• Veeam backup skills (a plus).
• Storage Area Network management experience, including Pure Storage, Infinidat, or other virtual storage systems (a plus).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to pass a background check for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) or Department of Defense (DoD) to acquire a “Contractor” badge.

Pay

Grade and Compensation Band PG 19: $92,872.00 – $139,214.40 annually. Target compensation range: $95,000 - $120,000.
