About the Role

This position will manage all computer and network equipment, including servers, switches, cabling, printers, and desktop systems at assigned locations. The role also involves supporting maintenance technicians with the installation and upkeep of motion and in-line scales.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage all computer and network components, including servers, switches, cabling, and desktop systems at assigned locations.
  • Program Cisco switches for the Local Area Network.
  • Document the Local Area Network at assigned location(s).
  • Document and maintain "Standard Operating Procedures" for site-specific technologies.
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of VLANs.
  • Work with end users and propose new hardware and software solutions to support the business.
  • Test all hardware and software modifications before introducing them into production.
  • Provide hardware and software diagnostics for network, hardware, and software issues.
  • Manage technology projects in compliance with IT standards.
  • Provide hardware and network support for "Production Floor" computer systems.
  • Support all printer functions at assigned locations.
  • Perform related tasks as required.
  • Available to work some weekends when the plant is not running.
  • Support the assigned maintenance technician as needed when installing or maintaining motion and in-line scales.

Requirements

  • Three years of related experience.
  • Working and troubleshooting knowledge of Windows Server (2003/2008), Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Office 2007 & 2010.
  • Understanding and functional knowledge of Citrix desktop/client.
  • Knowledge of Cisco switch configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network cabling and connectivity.
  • MCSE Certification is a plus but not required.
  • A+ Certification is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer support abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a plant/industrial environment.
  • Willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree or two years of college coursework in a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of walking, climbing stairs, and climbing ladders.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in confined spaces such as server rooms and network closets.
