About the role
SAIC is seeking a Network Administrator with experience in US Navy IT networks to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to quickly identify, triage, and address outages, analyzing symptoms and potential root causes to implement effective resolutions or escalate to Tier 3 support as required
- Utilize advanced monitoring tools and processes to oversee network infrastructure, monitor the performance and availability of managed services and systems across multiple exchange points, and ensure optimal performance
- Perform day to day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, software and hardware updates, and deployments
- Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations
- Operate and maintain the privileged access solutions
- Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures
- Operate and maintain hardware upgrade process and procedures
- Enact change management for the solution
- Operate and maintain existing incident management processes
- Keep firmware, software updates and patches up to date for equipment
- Support the design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities
- Support analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling
- Conducts testing of network systems
- Support the evaluation of new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and two (2) years relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure
- Additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Required Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI
- Required Skills and Experience: Experience with Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP); Access Control Lists; Layer 2 Switching; Spanning Tree; Packet Analysis; SPINE-LEAF architecture; Experience with Arista switches; Palo Alto Firewalls; TAP and network visibility (i.e. Gigamon, NetScout); SD-WAN and Spine-Leaf Architecture; working with VLANs and VRFs; configuring IPSEC tunnels; and troubleshooting routing issues; Working knowledge of SD-WAN, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices; Understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting; Capable of supporting TACACS+ on Cisco ISE and ISE Cube
- Required Certifications: IAT Level II required (Sec +), CCNA/CCNP. Six-month waiver authorized to obtain
- Desired Experience: With SVLAN (Service VLAN) configuration and management; Experience with Arista CloudVision Portal

$80,001 - $120,000
