Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Install and configure network hardware and software
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
- Manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi systems
- Maintain network security and access controls
- Perform backups and disaster recovery planning
- Support users with connectivity and network-related problems
- Document network configurations and updates
- Aid in training and mentoring technical support staff
- Maintains Active Directory Environment
- Maintains Backup Infrastructure and monitor its completion
- Restore Data from backups as needed
- Test, install, and upgrade Server & Client Applications
- Maintain, update Firewall and other security devices and applications
- Maintain, update, and configure E-mail servers and application
- Maintain, update, and configure Telephony systems and handsets
- Aid in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Participate on committees, in special projects, and attend meetings and seminars
- Completes all other assignments or duties designated as appropriate to position
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field preferred or equivalent experience required
- 3-4 years’ experience in IT systems management required
- A valid Michigan driver’s license, with appropriate insurance and ability to travel as needed

- Competent understanding of LAN and WAN
- Experienced server installation and support
- Developed problem solving and analyzing abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member

Working Conditions
- Generally working in a professional office environment
- Job requires flexibility and ability to travel as responsibilities are agency wide: main duties to be performed on Royal Oak campus
- Other sites include Wayne, Oakland, Livingston, Macomb and Washtenaw Counties
- Evening and weekend hours as needed
