This person supports the reliability, security, and performance of ARAG's network infrastructure while partnering with IT team members to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and maintain smooth business operations. Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement are essential for success in this role. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots on-premises network hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. Including:Provides onsite hardware and network maintenance at primary and secondary datacenter locationsAssists in network configuration and upgrades, including patching and firmware updatesDocuments network topologies, configurations, and proceduresSupports zero trust network security by implementing and monitoring access controlsResponds to incidents when necessaryWorks closely with Technology Innovation Group (TIG) team members to resolve connectivity issues and optimize network performanceParticipates in regular backup and disaster recovery operations for network devicesEngages in basic server management tasks as needed, including user account provisioning and permission changesMaintains network documentation, diagrams, configuration backups, and asset inventoryFollows change management processes for network updates, upgrades, and maintenance activitiesCoordinates with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues and support network reliabilityServes as a positive role model by representing ARAG at its Best.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge Familiarity with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN concepts, and common network protocolsHands-on experience with on-premises network devices and troubleshooting toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of firewall, VPN, wireless, routing, and switching conceptsFamiliarity with network monitoring tools, logging, alerting, and documentation practices Skills Experience with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems and environments.Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and hardware issuesExperience with network load balancing technology and conceptsBusiness management skills including vendor relations.Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, organization, time management and communication skills.Exposure to cloud computing infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).Availability to be on site (in Des Moines office) during core IT hours (currently 9:00 am – 3:00 pm). Availability to work during off peak work hours when necessary to ensure smooth operations during office hours – including on-call support 24x7. Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience Experience 3+ years of related experience. Certifications, Licenses, Associations, etc. None required. Physical Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
