Core Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Management
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks
- Manage LAN, WAN, intranets, VPNs, and MPLS circuits
- Maintain hardware inventory and apply patches, firmware updates
- Plan and execute network changes via formal change control processes
Cloud & Hybrid Networking
- Manage cloud networking on AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, and Google Cloud
- Oversee SD-WAN deployment and cloud-based SaaS integration
- Ensure reliable, secure connectivity for remote and distributed workforce
- Configure and optimize cloud-native firewall and network access policies
Security & Zero Trust
- Implement and maintain Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies
- Manage firewall rules, IDS/IPS, and network access control (NAC) systems
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and patch management cycles
- Monitor for threats using SIEM tools; coordinate incident response
- Enforce SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) frameworks for distributed users
- Support compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, and GDPR requirements
Monitoring, Observability & AIOps
- Deploy and manage network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Datadog, Grafana)
- Perform proactive capacity planning and bandwidth trend analysis
- Use AIOps platforms for predictive fault detection and auto-remediation
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines (CMDB)
- Generate weekly/monthly SLA and performance reports for stakeholders
Incident & Problem Management
- Act as the first responder for network incidents (P1/P2 SLA adherence)
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews
- Maintain and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Collaborate with NOC, SOC, and service desk for end-to-end incident resolution
- Document known errors and workarounds in the knowledge base
