About the role
The Circuit Actions Coordinator (Mid-Level) supports the Global WAN Transport Design mission under the direct supervision and guidance of the WAN Transport Manager. This position requires entry-level to intermediate networking knowledge with a foundational focus on WAN circuit lifecycle management—spanning procurement, provisioning, activation, testing, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing site installation schedules to execute the provisioning of site-specific circuits—supporting Global WAN Transport Design from initial requirement gathering through engineering, implementation, and activation, performed under the supervision of the WAN transport manager
- Assisting lead engineers, on-site installation leads, and the WAN transport manager with the activation of WAN circuits
- Serving as a key operational contributor across a broad range of circuit actions and strategic support functions, interfacing with government agencies, commercial vendors, and internal design teams as directed
- Maintaining configuration management of site documents pertaining to WAN circuit pathways and statuses, as directed by the WAN transport manager
- Performing basic SharePoint data entry to ensure global network architecture documentation remains accurate, updating site data including: circuit paths, circuit status, site drawing packages, site-specific equipment layouts, and port assignments
- Provisioning circuit actions utilizing DISA StoreFront to enter and track basic to intermediate circuit requirements, under the supervision of the WAN transport manager
- Supporting the WAN transport manager in tracking and submitting the DISA Systems/Network Approval Process (SNAP) packages on behalf of the network
- Coordinating Notice of Commercial Circuit Availability (NOCCAs) delivery alongside circuit testing processes, assisting the WAN transport manager in reviewing and evaluating circuit connectivity testing to verify pass/fail acceptance criteria
- Acting as a liaison under the WAN transport manager to track and ensure the completion of DISA Engineering Work Orders (EWOs), Implementation Requests (IRs), and required cross-connects
- Cooking with the logistics team, on behalf of the WAN transport manager, to arrange the shipping of necessary fiber for site cross-connects
- Requesting Ready-for-Use (RFU) status from DISA for circuits once all prerequisites (cross-connects, IRs, and EWOs) have been verified by the WAN transport manager
- Interfacing with commercial vendors, under the direction of the WAN transport manager, to facilitate the activation and troubleshooting of commercial WAN circuits and trunks
- Monitoring Status of Acquisition (SAM) messages to identify circuit modification requirements, escalating complex design issues to the WAN transport manager
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a network operations, circuit management, or telecommunications support role
- Demonstrated familiarity with WAN circuit lifecycles, including provisioning, testing, and activation
- Prior experience working with DISA systems or government network environments preferred
- Entry-level to intermediate understanding of WAN/networking concepts, including circuit types, transport technologies, and connectivity requirements
- Working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, the following tools and systems: DISA StoreFront SNAP (Systems/Network Approval Process) TCOSS, WWOLS, EECAMs, IIEx SIPR and HTS Network environments Microsoft SharePoint Basic understanding of configuration management practices for network documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to track multiple concurrent circuit actions and work orders
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with vendors, government stakeholders, and internal teams
- Able to work collaboratively in a structured, hierarchical environment under direct supervision
- Organized self-starter with strong data entry accuracy and documentation habits
Desired Skills
- Experience with DISA Engineering Work Orders (EWOs) or Implementation Requests (IRs)
- Familiarity with NOCCAs and commercial circuit acceptance testing procedures
- Prior coordination experience with DISA, DIA CMO, or other government agencies (OGAs)
- Exposure to Global WAN Transport Design environments or OCONUS network infrastructure
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent
