About the role

Everforth Apex is seeking a Network Admin III to join our world-class IT services team. This role involves managing and troubleshooting complex networking systems beyond the LAN environment, with a focus on Cisco operating systems, VOIP services, and 802.11 wireless networks. You will work both independently and collaboratively to provide direction and assistance to teammates while supporting regional sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex application-performance problems using information gathered from packet sniffers and other sources
  • Conduct studies of antenna illumination patterns for 802.11 wireless networks
  • Provide direction and assistance to teammates
  • Support on-call duties, rotating weekends, and evenings
  • Travel to support other regional sites as required
  • Lift up to 50 pounds

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in networking
  • 5 to 10 years of networking technologies experience
  • Exceptional skills with Cisco operating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of networking systems and infrastructure beyond the LAN environment
  • In-depth understanding of VOIP services and infrastructures
  • Advanced knowledge in 802.11 wireless networks
  • Knowledge of IETF and IEEE standards, the National Electric Code, and the National Electric Safety standards
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer skills
  • Ability to work independently to complete assignments
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Current driver license
  • United States citizen or individual who qualifies as a U.S. Person under applicable export control laws and regulations
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment

Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) or higher certification is preferred
