Network Acquisition Manager - AMER
About the Role
ByteDance’s Data Center Development department supports the company's rapid growth by sourcing and building hyper-scale data centers and vastly distributed global edge networks. The AMS&EU Network Acquisition team focuses on acquiring co-locations and various network connectivities—strategically and commercially—to support edge and backbone network infrastructure, ensuring optimal platform performance in the Americas and EMEA regions. This role involves developing and maintaining supplier relationships, conducting market research, managing supplier performance, and shaping acquisition strategies to align with growth objectives.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated server and storage hardware architect and technology planning expert passionate about global infrastructure acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Secure infrastructure resources such as co-location and connectivity services (dark fiber, transport network, IP, etc.) from a commercial perspective to meet traffic demand.
- Lead commercial and technical negotiations with candidate suppliers.
- Negotiate and implement complex supplier agreements and contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet milestone deliverables.
- Develop and manage acquisition strategies and tactics for short-, mid-, and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and other teams.
- Conduct market research, build market intelligence, select and onboard qualified suppliers, and manage the supplier lifecycle.
- Maintain sustainable relationships and develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to achieve business goals.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business, technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in the infrastructure industry, including acquisition, sourcing, engineering, finance, or other relevant technical and business functions.
- Work experience with Edge Co-locations, Data Centers, ISPs, Carriers, Content Delivery Networks, or IX providers in North American and Latin American markets.
- Experience in commercial and contractual negotiations.
- Strong project management, concise communication, and logical/analytical reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in Office Applications, Jira, and other contract platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct acquisition and sourcing experience with Edge Co-locations, Data Centers, ISPs, Carriers, Content Delivery Networks, or IX providers in North American and Latin American markets.
- Proven track record in commercial, technical, and contractual negotiations with suppliers.
- Strong business, commercial, and technical acumen with analytical approaches to decision-making.
- An "Always Day 1" mindset and willingness to tackle challenging projects.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $115,520 – $258,400 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. The total package may include discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
