About the role
LND Technical Services is a leading provider of electrical services, specializing in the testing, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician – NETA II to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, power cables, circuit breakers, and grounding systems.
- Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems in low, medium, and high voltage.
- Assist in troubleshooting system failures or abnormal test results.
- Develop and track project-specific documentation, including test reports, equipment data sheets, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to identify, troubleshoot, resolve problems to ensure project goals are met on time and within scope.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards (OSHA, NETA) and company safety policies, including completing safety analysis of job tasks.
- Participate in job briefings and safety meetings.
- Maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent customer service.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and communicate findings and recommendations to customers and the management team.
- Lead and mentor some junior technicians, providing on-the-job training and guidance.
- Travel to client and project sites, including overnight and weekly travel as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of two or more years of technical education in electrical field or related field experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance in low, medium, high-voltage systems.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license, required. Certifications in electrical testing and safety standards (e.g., OSHA 30, NFPA 70E) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge and understanding of lockout/tagout procedures and requirements, arc flash and shock hazard analyses, electrical energy control procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, drive regularly, and occasionally fly for travel.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Availability to work overtime and travel out of town up to 75%.
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to maintain a good driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
