About the role

The role is a senior-level application development position embedded within a Cards technology organization, responsible for delivering end-to-end software development across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage application development deliverables across the full software development life cycle (SDLC), applying Waterfall or Agile methodologies as appropriate for each project.
• Gather technical requirements, code specifications, and test plans across multiple concurrent projects.
• Perform analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and production maintenance of enterprise applications with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues through in-depth evaluation of business and system processes.
• Ensure alignment to established architectural standards and proactively identify opportunities to modernize existing applications.
• Support development activities within the Mail Management System and Statement System integration environments as part of the Cards SDLC.
• Apply AI/ML development skills, including Agentic AI tools such as Claude and Devin, to enhance application capabilities and delivery efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Unix scripts and Autosys job scheduling configurations in support of automated workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with remote and distributed teams, fostering positive working relationships across organizational boundaries.
• Lead and integrate within a team of experienced application developers, exercising adaptive leadership and conflict resolution in a high-tempo operating environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in application development, systems management, or project delivery in a technology environment, with demonstrated growth in scope and responsibility.
• Proficiency in .NET development, including VB.NET and C#, on Windows-based systems.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and SQL Server for application and database development.
• Experience with Unix scripting and Autosys for job scheduling and automation.
• Demonstrated use of GitHub for source control and collaborative software development.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI tools (e.g., Claude, Devin) and AI/ML development practices.
• Experience in the credit card or financial services industry is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Python and/or Precisely client/server-based printing solutions is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead application development teams within both Waterfall and Agile SDLC environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to business stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity creatively and deliver results in a high-achieving, fast-paced team environment.
