What a Day in the Life Looks Like
Starts with standup, work is assigned for every 2-week sprint. Working on upgrade-related code changes and helping with high-priority production incidents.
Interaction Level with Team Members and Hiring Manager
Maximum interaction is with the team as we operate under Scrum/Agile. Meetings with the GIS Team and regular touchbases with the hiring manager.
Top Priority Over First Few Weeks/Months
To help with custom C# code (ArcObjects/ArcFM) development for the 10.8.1 upgrade project with a heavy focus on testing.
Team and Work Environment
- Current team size: 2 Developers, 1 Business System Analyst (BSA), and 1 QA Lead
- Initiatives/Deliverables: Working on ArcGIS/ArcFM 10.8.1 upgrade from 10.6.1
- Specific Technologies: ESRI ArcGIS (Desktop and Enterprise), Schneider Electric's ArcFM, C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Microsoft Visual Studio, ArcObjects/ArcFM custom code development, ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro, Arc Objects, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Web App Builder/ArcGIS Web Experience Builder, Esri ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python), ArcFM Suite (ArcFM Designer, Session Manager, Process Framework, GDBM Database), SQL experience (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), geostatistical analysis, geoprocessing, geocoding tools, data service integration, multiple platforms (Windows, Linux), good knowledge in electric utilities.
