Nesting I

About the role

This position provides production support for Sheet Metal and Wood Shop; creating nested layouts for cutting equipment and offline programs for forming equipment. In addition to production support the position will participate in continuous improvement activities aligning with the businesses annual operating plan. This role could be filled as a Nesting II depending on candidate experience level.

Responsibilities

• Produce optimized nested layouts for laser, turret and CNC router for efficient utilization of equipment.
• Produce offline programs for press brakes and panel bender.
• Maintain CAD parts library, ensuring latest revision and optimal tooling paths
• Work with Sheet Metal and Wood Shop to provide a balanced workload at cutting and forming equipment.
• Perform data collecting and report out metrics to members of the Operations Team.
• Provide Continuous Improvement support for all areas of the business.
• Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Travel to our Centerville, IA or Keosauqua, IA facility will be required as duties are required

Requirements

• High School diploma / GED required
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated computer skills beyond a basic level

Qualifications

• Salvagnini Edit P4 Language (Panel Bender)
• CAD software experience on any platform. Solid Edge or Solid Works given preferential consideration
• CAM software experience on any platform. SigmaNest or MetaCAM given preferential consideration
• Computer skills beyond a basic level: Microsoft Office, SolidEdge, SolidWorks and PDF creator
• Candidate must be a motivated self-starter and possess strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to efficiently schedule one’s own time and activities to establish a course of action for handling multiple jobs and priorities
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
• Demonstrated understanding the safety standards and quality expectations
• Demonstrated understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing process
