NERC Compliance Specialist - FAC-008 Corrective Action Program Lead

Ensure compliance for Transmission Operations regarding the NERC reliability standards as applied by all Regional Reliability Organizations (RROs). Collaborate with Transmission, Generation, Commercial Operations, and Corporate in compliance matters; interface with these business units in the standards development and review process. Develop standards, ensure appropriate systems are in place to track and monitor compliance, perform daily tasks to monitor compliance, and conduct quarterly and yearly reviews to demonstrate compliance. Provide general direction through broad goals and objectives while establishing methods to attain them. Offer guidance to lower-level employees for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, implementation, tracking, and effectiveness review of corrective actions resulting from FAC-008 errors, root cause analyses, and verification activities.
• Ensure actions address identified causes, prevent recurrence, are completed on time, and drive continuous improvement across the FAC-008 program.
• Develop and manage corrective action plans resulting from FAC-008 errors, verification activities, audits, and root cause analyses, ensuring actions address underlying causes and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain the corrective action tracking system, including action ownership, due dates, status updates, supporting documentation, and closure evidence.
• Monitor the progress of corrective actions and work with action owners and stakeholders to resolve barriers, address overdue items, and ensure timely completion.
• Perform and coordinate effectiveness reviews to verify that corrective actions have been properly implemented and are achieving the intended results.
• Provide program oversight and reporting by analyzing corrective action trends, identifying recurring issues, and communicating program status, risks, and improvement opportunities to management and FAC-008 stakeholders.

Requirements

• Occasional travel (5-10%) and occasional overtime.
• Physical demand level is typically sedentary with a possibility for occasional field visits.
• Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance policy.
• Strong skills in communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation are essential.
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring corrective actions preferred.
• Solid understanding of electrical power systems and NERC compliance preferred but not required.

Qualifications

NERC Compliance Specialist SG7

• Associate's degree in business administration, computer science, engineering, or related field, or
• High School Diploma / GED and two (2) years of experience in compliance and/or Information Technology.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in addition to any experience noted above.

NERC Compliance Specialist Senior SG8

• Associate's degree in business administration, computer science, engineering, or related field, or
• High School Diploma / GED and two (2) years of experience in compliance and/or Information Technology.
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in addition to any experience noted above.

Pay

• NERC Compliance Specialist SG7: $87,633 - $109,544 per year
• NERC Compliance Specialist Senior SG8: $98,993 - $128,689 per year

This role sits on site in New Albany, Ohio. The physical demand level for this job is sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
