About the role

The CIP Compliance Department assists in the development, coordination, monitoring, and communication of all applicable Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards developed by the North American Reliability Council (NERC).

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission through key activities in NERC Coordination, Reliability First Coordination, SERC Reliability Corporation Coordination, Standards Tracking/Development, Compliance Coordination, Evidence Gathering, Compliance and Controls Assessments, Spot Checks, and Regional Audits.
  • Works independently and as part of a team on work assignments involving the compilation, preparation, and analysis of evidence in relation to CIP Standards.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve identified risks and implement remedial actions.
  • Participates in recurring audits to ensure compliance with NERC CIP Reliability Standards.
  • Reviews new or revised standards, procedures, or policies to identify necessary changes for continued compliance.
  • Supports company personnel in developing new processes or reports for compliance.
  • Contributes to the development of recommendations for NERC CIP Reliability Standards and provides guidance to company personnel.
  • Prepares the company for NERC and Regional Compliance Audits, Spot Checks, and Self-Certifications.
  • Updates compliance tools, tracks audit and investigation efforts, and manages compliance documentation.
  • Enhances the company's controls for requirements that could have significant impacts on reliability, finances, or reputation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with and working knowledge of CIP standards.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or managing implementation of work level instructions.
  • Demonstrated abilities of effective analytical and reasoning capabilities, refined verbal and writing skills, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, determine possible solutions, and draw valid conclusions to assist in the CIP investigation process.
  • Prior experience conducting analysis and supporting compliance in a regulatory environment.
  • Prior Energy industry experience preferred.
