Role Overview
The position involves serving as a Transplant Nephrologist and Medical Director for an adult kidney transplant program.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing pre- and post-transplant care for kidney transplant candidates and recipients
- Managing living donor evaluations and post-donation care
- Actively participating in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives in compliance with CMS and UNOS regulations
- Collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to develop the transplant program, enhance outreach, and increase referrals
- Administrative duties including program development, workflow optimization, and community engagement
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine and Transplant Nephrology Fellowship
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
- Strong patient care commitment and team collaboration skills
- Ability to obtain a Virginia Medical License
