Nephrology Investigator
About the role
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking applications for tenure-line faculty at all levels (Assistant, Associate or full Professor, depending on experience and qualifications).
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-impact, federally funded research in areas such as chronic kidney disease, genetics, dialysis, vascular access, molecular physiology, hypertension, and health equity.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Nutrition & Integrative Physiology, Population Health Sciences, Human Genetics, Pathology, Biomedical Engineering, and other departments.
- Participate in institutional initiatives like Diabetes & Metabolism, Immunology, Inflammation & Infectious Disease, Genomic Medicine, Digital Health, and Data Exploration and Learning for Precision Health Intelligence.
- Engage in interdisciplinary research through the Nora Eccles Harrison Cardiovascular Research & Training Institute and the University of Utah Molecular Medicine Program (U2M2).
- Seek VA funding and potentially join VA joint appointments.
- Access state-of-the-art core facilities and consultative services for various scientific techniques.
- Participate in family-based genetic studies through the Utah Population Database.

Requirements
MD and/or PhD, or equivalent degree, with postdoctoral research training, with strong potential for high-impact, federally funded research.
