About the role
This locum tenens opportunity is for a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide inpatient neonatal care in Portland, Maine. The role begins ASAP and involves managing high‑risk deliveries and performing a full range of neonatal procedures. Portland offers a scenic coastline, sea‑battered lighthouses, quaint seaside neighborhoods, fresh lobster, historic inns, secluded bays and harbors, and seaside cliffs.
Responsibilities
- High‑risk deliveries
- Full neonatal procedures
- Intubation
- Lumbar puncture
- Venipuncture
- Arterial puncture
- Umbilical line placement
- Thoracentesis
- Thoracostomy
- Neonatal resuscitation
Requirements
- Willing to obtain state licensure
- Credentialing timeframe: 60‑120 days
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP‑specific)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
