Job Summary
Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a BE/BC Neonatologist to join their established team. MVHS is located in Utica, New York, in the central part of the state. MVHS is dedicated to supporting its physicians and advanced practice providers, enabling them to deliver premier healthcare to the region while keeping patients at the focus of all they do.
About the Role

Private patient room Level-II plus NICU admitting infants down to 30 weeks gestation.
Approximately 200 admissions per year, an ADC of 7, and a census that can flex up to 13.
In-house call room allows for either local or remote living opportunities.
Perinatology and other pediatric subspecialties are available by consult, including pediatric cardiology.
ROP exams performed by retinal specialist in house.
Unit is supported by neonatal trained speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists; pediatric-certified echo techs; and lactation consultants.
Newborn nursery covered by pediatric hospitalists.

Education/Experience Requirements
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship
- Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise
- Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Licensure/Certification Requirements
- Current NYS Certification/Licensure
- Federal DEA Certification
- Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable
