About the role

Pediatrix® Medical Group seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join its practice at Lake Mary Hospital, the newest addition to the Orlando Health family. The hospital is scheduled to open in early 2025 with an annual projected 1,000 deliveries and an average daily census (ADC) in the newborn nursery of 6-7. The Level II NICU is projected to have an ADC of 5-6 by year-end, with 2,000 deliveries and 24/7 coverage. The team includes neonatologists, NNPs, and pediatric hospitalists, with a neonatologist onsite 8 hours daily and on call from home. Must be within a 30-minute on-call response radius. NNP schedule includes 12 and 24-hour shifts. Supported by the Orlando Health flagship NICU located at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, a 142-bed, Level-IV NICU.

Responsibilities

  • Provide neonatal care in a Level II NICU and newborn nursery setting.
  • Work collaboratively with neonatologists, pediatric hospitalists, and other NNPs.
  • Participate in 12 and 24-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities within a 30-minute response radius.

Qualifications

  • Current APRN national specialty certification.
  • Minimum of a master’s degree.
  • Florida license required.
  • Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) with recent experience.
