Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Responsibilities
- Rounding with Nemours Neonatologists on NICU patients, well babies, and attending high risk deliveries.
- Managing and providing care for patients requiring neonatal intensive care.
- Collaborating with neonatologists concerning historical events, physical findings, and diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
- Ordering appropriate laboratory tests and procedures.
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures necessary for neonatal care.
- Reviewing and providing general care items involved in neonatal care, such as temperature stabilization, hyperalimentation therapy, feeding management, and phototherapy.
- Participating in daily rounds in the NICU.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
- Active license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Florida OR Active Florida Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure with Neonatal National Certification.
- Certified with a current AHA BLS.
About the Role
Nemours Children’s Health Florida is seeking a full-time Neonatal Advance Practice Provider to staff the Level II NICU at HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee. Local candidates are encouraged to apply.
