About the role

Join a highly skilled neonatal APP team at a community hospital where collaboration, strong team dynamics, and meaningful patient and family connections are at the heart of care. This role offers a unique blend of well-baby nursery and NICU coverage, including daily patient management, admissions, discharge planning, and attendance at high-risk deliveries. Providers enjoy a high level of autonomy with independent in-house coverage after 4 PM, backed by 24/7 neonatology support. Practice at the top of your license while performing advanced neonatal procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with the physician(s) and care team members
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice as designated by protocols
  • Identify problems outside of scope of practice and refer appropriately to physician
  • Daily patient management, admissions, discharge planning, and attendance at high-risk deliveries
  • Perform advanced neonatal procedures, including intubation, umbilical line placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, thoracentesis, and neonatal resuscitation

Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Physician Assistant in surgery or related setting

Schedule

Full-time nights with flexible schedule. Premium differentials offered. No call required.
